Destined to “leave her mark on posterity with her immense sensitivity and boundless talent” (Journal des Citoyens), cellist Noémie Raymond-Friset leads a diversified international career that has taken her to perform as a cellist and soloist with renowned orchestras. From London’s Royal Albert Hall to the Festival Internacional de Musica de Camara in Lima, her “passionate, hypersensitive, and refined” playing has taken her across four continents, notably alongside violinists Midori Goto and Pinchas Zukerman.

Recognized as one of CBC’s “30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians under 30,” Noémie is also an experienced and accomplished educator.

Holding a PhD in performance and literature from the prestigious Eastman School of Music, she serves as a mentor in cello and chamber music for the junior program of the Heifetz International Music Institute and teaches at the Festival del Lago in Mexico. She also held the position of Director of Operations, Development, and Communications at the Montreal Chamber Music Festival from November 2022 to November 2023.

She has won several awards in national and international competitions. She has also distinguished herself as a scholar on multiple occasions and as a winner of the Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank competition.
